Small, round, beetle-like bugs EVERYWHERE. #703384

These small (about the size of a head of a finishing nail), round, crawling/hopping/flying, beetle-like bugs are taking over our yard and are putting a real damper on our patio life! They seem similar in bodytype to ladybugs and appear to be attracted to light. I've asked around and no one knows about or has seen these before. There are thousands of them! They're on the sides of our house, patio chairs and tables, and they're making their way into the house via our clothing. I've attached a couple photos for you to look at. Please help me identify these and let me know what I can do to keep these nasty bugs away! Thank you!
A side note: My daughter tipped over a large bottle of canola oil on our patio table yesterday and these bugs seem to LOVE IT! Why is that?

These appear to be flea beetles. There are many varieties and the pictures are not clear enough to define which one this is. Because it is attracted to canola oil it may feed on that or a similar crop like soybeans. The control measures are the same. The list of insecticides are listed in the following website.
