Perennial Colorado Sunflowers #700203

Asked July 13, 2020, 1:39 PM EDT

I want some perennial sunflowers in my tree line. There is no watering system so I’m looking for a drought tolerant sunflower that won’t need watering when established. I prefer the look of a wide flower head and very tall stem. Would a Lemon Queen grow well in Greeley?

Thanks for contacting us about sunflowers. Most sunflowers are not perennial in Colorado, but the roadside sunflowers reseed freely so there are new plants each year. Jerusalem artichokes get tall, also,
