My live oak (5-6 in diameter) has lost 99% of foliage. Do you think it will recover? Anything to do now? How will I know if it is dead? It is located on curb side of yard which makes it a city of Frisco tree.

Expert Response
They are really dropping leaves everywhere and it is distressful! Because live oaks would be dropping leaves about this time anyway, I think they will be fine. I would certainly not declare it dead yet. What we are recommending is wait and see approach before doing any trimming. I am not recommending much of any special treatment, fertilizer for example can add stress. We have been putting out a lot of information on the Aggie Horticulture Facebook page that might be helpful.
Let me know if I can help you further.
