The plant that you have is winter creeper euonymus a species of spindle trees. It is also known as: fortunes spindle, spreading euonymus, japanese euonymus, climbing euonymus. If you use herbicides you should first cut the plant back as far as you can and then treet the fresh cut with a herbicide.
