Soil Sample Results and Next Steps #682586

Hi, I recently received my lawn soil test results and was wondering if you could provide any fertilizer recommendations. Also, when should I put down the fertilizer first and how often after that. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi- the best time to fertilize cool-season turfgrasses is in the fall. There are exceptions regarding new lawns, lawns that are weak and thin, and lawns that were not fertilized last fall.

Lawn fertilization is regulated in Maryland. The nitrogen fertilizer recommendations of soil testing labs should be ignored. Please read our detailed web pages on how and when to fertilize your lawn:
