The leaves and stems on our two bird of paradise are brown and the leaves are curled. They were covered with frost cloth during the recent freeze. How do I determine if these plants survived the freeze and if they did how do i help them recover?

The best way to help them recover is be patient. If any of the foliage is soft or mushy you can remove it. This plant will return from the root system, so as the soil temperatures warm new growth should emerge. Any broken foliage can also be removed.
