You can purchase a soil test kit self-mailer from the MSU Book Store. The current cost for the test kit is $25.00. You can follow the link below: https://shop.msu.edu/product_p/bulletin-e3154.htm The kit has a self-mailer to return the sample to the soil lab and the directions for taking a soil sample are included in the soil test kit. The test takes two to three weeks to be returned, sometime more during the busy Spring and Summer. The test includes soil pH, Phosphorus and Potassium levels and the percent of organic material in the soil. I hope this helps.
