Expert Response
Though we cannot identify it to species, this belongs to the Jumping Spider family; there are over 50 species recorded throughout Maryland. It is harmless to humans and can be a good means of pest control, though our homes tend to be a bit dry and low in prey to support their long-term survival. You can either let it remain (perhaps among some houseplants or in a buggy basement or crevices) or let it go outside or in a garage or shed. (Without knowing which species it is, we cannot research life cycle details such as winter survival.)
