Patio gardening for seniors #679032

Asked January 12, 2021, 8:32 AM EST

We have recently downsized from a yard in a beautiful home to a beautiful townhome allowing patio planting only. In addition, we have northwest exposure. Can you please suggest some lush, colorful easy to manage plants for me to grow as well as a couple practical vegetable pots?

You have to decide if you wish to have plants that can be disposed of when freezing weather occurs.  Small shrubs look good but how do you care for them in the winter?  They cannot just remain outside in those pots as the roots will freeze.  That said, I am giving you a few links with information to consider.  Ask Extension: Can I landscape my yard with perennials in containers?
