Can you possibly recommend any place or business in Oklahoma that offers free garden seeds. I ask this question for two purposes. 1. I feel its necessary to teach my grandchildren to become more self sufficient. 2. I have several older neighbors that need extra food and would be willing to help them start a small garden. Sorry, I am not aware of anyone in particular that gives out free seeds. Occasionally a garden club, plant association and other agencies will give out free seed, but I have no way of knowing who and when until I see announcements. Seeds are relatively cheap from local garden centers as well as from online seed companies. You might start small as well as ask your gardening neighbors for ideas and assistance; maybe they have some seed they are willing to share.
You might also consider contacting your local OSU County Extension Office for some possible local resources.
