Crab???? grass #678179

Asked December 11, 2020, 12:08 PM EST

I have about an acre of land near Flintridge in Newark, OH. Have large beds of daylilies, daffodils, irises, peonies that are being smothered by what I call crab grass. It is fibrous, with wider blades than regular grass, and it seems to creep rather than propagate through seeds. I am older and can no longer dig and pull out the grass, and it has really taken over. Is there anything I can put on the grass that will NOT kill the daylilies, peonies, daffodils, irises, etc.? or will I have to dig up the plants and strip them down to the bulb to get rid of the weeds? Thank you for your help.

Expert Response

If you go to a website Pennington.com website and tap on the magnifying glass at the top right, that will bring up a search box. Type in the search box how to kill crab grass and prevent it from coming back, it will give you a way to control crab grass. Thank you for your question.
