Help identify this beach debris? #676819
Asked October 29, 2020, 11:34 AM EDT
Hi, can you help us to identify this? We've been finding these balls along the Western Shore (Kenwood Beach area, Port Republic). We're concerned b/c it looks like something a turtle or perhaps other marine creatures might ingest. Someone told us they look like the balls used for clean-out at the Calvert Cliffs nuclear power plant. I've looked those up - apparently they're called "clean out balls", for pumping concrete pumps, etc.
Do you know if that's what these are? And is there some place we should report finding them?
Thanks so much -
