Prune your viburnum in the early spring. It can be done before it leafs out.Â Shape it but also remove up to 1/3rd of the oldest, thickest stems right down to the ground.Â That will generate new fresh stems. You can cut your viburnum's height and widthÂ back by 1/3rd to 1/2 as they are a very hardy shrub.
