1. I bring hibiscus plants into a heated garage for the winter. Should I trim/shape them? 2. What is an easy way to keep geraniums over the winter? 3. I have 6 new red twig dogwood bushes. When should they be trimmed for the first time? Thank you!!!

Hi,

1. I would not cut back hibiscus now, but rather late in winter. See this information: https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plantinfo/faq/overwintering_hibiscus
2. Geraniums are very hardy and easy to overwinter. Here is information on various ways to do so: https://hortnews.extension.iastate.edu/2004/9-17-2004/geraniums.html
3. The best time to trim dogwoods is late winter: https://www.chicagobotanic.org/plantinfo/gardening_tips_and_techniques/winter_pruning
