Caterpillar #673984

Asked August 07, 2020, 12:28 PM EDT

This little guy (sorry, he kept hiding) has completely holed up using webs and leaves in my Asclepias incarnata in a seed pod. Any idea what it is or will be?

I can venture a guess that is the larva of a moth in the family Tortricidae.  There are dozens of common species, and many of them have a very wide host plant range.  I'll attach a photo of the adult of the oblique-banded leafroller, one of the most common species.
