Hi. That is definitely some sort of beetle. It would be useful to have a measurement, but since you say they are quite small and there are a lot of them, I think you may be dealing with powder post beetles. The U. of Kentucky has a nice page on these beetles here, and the image you sent looks a lot like the lyctid powderpost beetles shown in Figure 2. Ohio State has a good fact sheet on them here. They are quite small, < 1/4”. If that matches what you are seeing, that could be an accurate identification. However, a more certain identification would require some sort of scale bar and more detailed photos. Alternatively, you could send a sample to the C. Wayne Ellett Plant and Pest Diagnostic Clinic (PPDC) at The Ohio State University, though there is a $20 fee (details can be found here.) The larvae of these beetles feed on wood, so that could be the source of them. I suggest you look around the area where you are finding them most frequently to see if you can spot small holes in wood that could indicate the source. Those two fact sheets provides suggests for control if that is what you are dealing with. You could also try contacting a pest control company to confirm the identification and make a plan for control.
