over or under watering tomato plant? #669667

Asked July 27, 2020, 11:51 PM EDT

Is there any way to tell if this yellowing is due to a watering issue? too much, too little? Fertilizer? It's been so hot in Denver. I am puzzled.

Expert Response

Hi, It looks like possibly lack of water and also not enough fertilizer. Plants in containers do dry out faster than in the ground, so make sure that the soil stays moist at all times. Tomatoes need a balanced fertilizer, so something like 10-10-10 would help as well. Here is a fact sheet on tomato care: https://cmg.extension.colostate.edu/Gardennotes/717.pdf
