The insect in the photo is a brown prionid (Orthosoma brunneum), which is a species of longhorned beetle. I'm not sure if the specimen in the photo is a female or male.

Brown prionids are a native species that occur throughout eastern North America. They are reasonably common around moist woodlands as the larvae feed on roots and wood in contact with wet ground. The adults sometimes come to traps baited with sugar, so presumably feed on sap or rotting fruit as adults. They're not pests as the larvae only feed on dead wood.
