Tree leaves dieing and falling off #666246
Asked July 19, 2020, 9:54 PM EDT
I’m not sure what is going on with this tree the past few weeks but almost All the leaves turned brown and fell off. The side of the tree that still has leaves gets the most sunlight in the day. Anyone know what’s going on and if the tree can be saved?

A general observation. It appears to me that the tree has not been pruned in quite a while. The canopy appears dense and this slows normal airflow in and around the branches.
My guess is that this tree has verticulum wilt with the scorch margins on the leaves http://cues.cfans.umn.edu/old/dx/CB/v_wilt.htm
https://www.fs.usda.gov/Internet/FSE_DOCUMENTS/stelprdb5347330.pdf It could be leaf scorch. There are huge differences in prognosis and treatment.
You should contact an arborist to diagnose and help with this tree. https://extension.umn.edu/planting-and-growing-guides/how-hire-tree-care-professional
