What grass is this? #664758

Asked July 15, 2020, 10:28 PM EDT

Hello,

Every summer, portions of my yard develop these blades of grass that are thick (relatively speaking) and yellow. I would say they are similar to toothpicks (not quite as strong, but stronger than traditional blades of grass). The rest of the lawn is dense and green, but these grasses tend to make portions of the lawn look dead. These only come in during the summer months, but the yard is well watered and fertilized. I also apply bio-stimulants to the yard throughout the year. I'm trying to determine what they are and how to get rid of them. Do you have any ideas? Thanks...

I'm sorry but the photos don't give me enough information to ID your grassy weed.  I've attached some websites that will provide information and possibly help you ID your grass.  Another alternative is to contact MSU Plant & Pest Diagnostics as they may be able to tell your grass from photos or from  a sample you send in.  info here: https://www.canr.msu.edu/pestid/
