disease on our crabapple tree? #659093

Asked July 02, 2020, 2:51 PM EDT

Hi,
Can you tell if there is an insect or disease that has attacked our (otherwise) healthy, 20-yo crabapple tree? Depending on your opinion, can you recommend a treatment?
Thanks so much!

Expert Response

It is hard for me to see the overall tree if only these branches are affected or if the problem is all over the tree? I see some leaves with yellow and green veins, that condition is called chlorosis. Refer to the following fact for more information: https://planttalk.colostate.edu/topics/weeds-cultural-problems/2121-iron-chlorosis-trees/

Since I cannot see everything that is going on with the tree, we recommend contacting a certified arborist to come out and take a look.
Here is a web site to find a certified arborist in your area: https://www.isa-arbor.com/
