Plum tree-leaf curl? #653768

Asked June 20, 2020, 5:35 PM EDT

Newly planted this year about 1.5 months ago bare root. New leafs are displaying the colors shown, I clipped some of the new leaves and then let some grow to see what they look like. I don’t see any white dots or active aphids around it. One of my trees had it but now I can’t find it anywhere on it and one has weak leaves that are less waxy. TIA!

The leaves in the photos do not show typical symptoms of the leaf curl aphid. Leaves affected by the leaf curl aphid are generally much more deformed and the aphids are inside the curled leaf. What are the cultural conditions like, specifically how often are the trees watered and how much water do they get? It has been a dry spring and fruit trees need regular water, newly planted trees even more so. They should get watered at least twice a week with at least 5 gallons of water each time
