6(?) legged friends #652163

I've attached 2 photos of ants that apparently believe our home that we just purchased is also their home. They're about 7-8mm long or so. They're not everywhere (yet) but we find about 5 or 6 of them a day on our bathroom counter and a few others in different locations in the house. I'm hoping you can advise me what type of ants these are and what a good, environmentally safe way is to get rid of them. Thank you for your assistance!

I can't make out what kind of ant that  is from the photos. Please send me 6 or so and I will ID them for you.  Ants are difficult to control even with insecticides.

To preserve and protect fragile specimens, it’s always best to submit insects in a small leak proof vial filled with rubbing alcohol or vinegar (the postal service prefers you send them in vinegar).  Place the vial in a small zip-lock baggie, then in a small box or mailing tube and mail to
