Hosta HVX #647213

Asked June 07, 2020, 4:16 AM EDT

Hello.  I started a New Hosta garden. I bought several new Hostas from a nursery and I moved a few that were already planted on my property. I was told recently that the hostas that I transferred looked infected with HVX. I'm going to remove the maybe infected Hostas definitely and throw them away but... I did NOT wash my tools before I dug my holes for my nursery plants the next weekend that I planted them. My question is this do I dig up all of the new Hostas too? How do I prevent HVX of that's possible? And how does it happen in the first place. We've lived here for 7 years and they've always come up healthy looking except last year. I thought it was slugs.
