Trying to save my sage plant! #645495

Asked June 03, 2020, 3:49 PM EDT

My beautiful sage plants have both  thrived for several years but this past winter they did not!  The only thing I can see are a few very small new growths coming from one branch.  Should I trim all the bigger old stalks or give it a chance to come back? Or......
You can see both sages now, sad face, and then the tiny new growth at the bottom of the plant in the other picture.

Expert Response

This past winter was tough on many plants. You could try to cut it back and wait and see if any of it comes back, but there is no guarantee how much will come back.
