Plant/weed identification #644674

What is this weed-like plant? It pops up in spring and looks like its going to have a flower but I don't think ours ever has. When we pulled it out we saw it has a bulbus root.

Hi - We would be happy to help. Can you please tell us if you found the plant in a garden or is it from a wild area such a woodland edge? You mentioned that they pop up in the spring. Does the foliage last all season or does it turn yellow-brown and die down in the summer (like daffodils or tulips do)? Does it grow in a group or colony, or is there just one here and there?
