Years ago I had planted either morning glory or clematis at the base of this trellis in photo 1 which seems to have 3 leaves (which worries me that's it's something poisonous.) Now I also have something else growing profusely right next to it. I think there are 2 plants there but I don't know what they are. Can you help please?

Expert Response
Hi - The plant in the front of your first photo (with 3 leaflets) looks like Clematis. The plant behind it, climbing the white fence, is Oriental bittersweet. The bittersweet is an invasive plant and we recommend removing it before it develops and disperses seeds. Please refer to our webpage about bittersweet and follow the links at the bottom of the page for information on how to remove it. https://extension.umd.edu/hgic/topics/oriental-bittersweet
