Money Tree Issues: Disease or Pest? Help #633215

Asked May 08, 2020, 7:28 PM EDT

I bought a Money Tree plant for a gift for my son. I've been hanging onto it until quarantine ends. Over the last 3-4 weeks it's leaves have developed issues. See attached pics of weeks...It now has deformed, burned?, diseased?, or other another issue on the leaves. Is anyone able to help identify by the attached pics? Can the plant be saved or treated? I'm new to plants and have very little knowledge about diseases and/or pests. Please help if you can...it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you for your time and assistance. Tammy C.

It is hard to tell from photos but I believe you have some aphids or other sucking insect. They suck the juices out of a leaf and that part of the leaf become thin, brown and eventually fall out. Look underneath the leaves closely. That is where you will find them. You can put your money tree in a tub and spray with insecticidal soap or just wash it with a spray of water from the shower.
