Check out the overnight devastation of my rose bush this week (April 26, 2020).
Nothing visible during the day. But at night I caught the pest. It is gray with chevrons on the back near the head.
Some sort of armyworm?
I bet it came in on the horse manure I threw down last fall. The manure came from a farm in Hood River.
Thanks.

Hi!
I would consider this "worm" a cutworm larva of the Noctuidae family of moths. Possibly of the genus Spodoptera, though I cannot be 100% correct from just a photo. Hope this helps!
