Japanese Barberry? #627187

Hello,
I recently bought a new home and was doing some landscaping yesterday. The attached photos are what I believe to be Japanese Barberry. I was disappointed to read that they are invasive and considered to be a haven for ticks. Can you confirm this and, if so, give me your opinion of what to do?
Thanks,

Expert Response
Yes, this is barberry unfortunately. Dig it up or treat it. If it's young enough, you can just pull it up when soil is good and moist.
