why do my ball pythons eyes look like this? #625928

my ball python is a year old and ive had him for 7 months. hes only shed once since i got him and i think he may have left over shed on his eye in patches. im not sure what to do and it doesnt look like anything ive seen online! what should i do? im super worried

Thank you for your question. If your snake has shed, but retained the lens cap over its eye, this can lead to problems. It is possible to remove the old lens, but you have to know what you're doing, or you could damage the eye.

I recommend you take your snake to a reptile veterinarian. They will be able to determine the cause of your snake's eye issue, and, if it is a retained lens, they will be able to safely remove it.
