Are ferns edible? #624101

Our daughter's teacher was showing the kids "fiddleheads" and mentioned they were edible. She noticed that they looked like the ferns that are growing in the woods behind our house. Are they edible? Pictures attached.

All fiddleheads are NOT edible.  Proper identification is key and we do not have research on this topic.    We cannot recommend eating them.
