does anyone know what this is?
it grows in patches in my clay yard.
it is soft and grows to a height of maybe 2 inches.

Hi,
Unfortunately I cannot identify the grass based on this picture. Does it get supplemental irrigation? Based on the short growing height it may be a buffalograss, but I can't say for certain. Ordinarily I would ask that you bring a sample in to our office but we are closed due to concerns about COVID-19 at this point. Could you take some more detailed photographs and email them to me (see below)? Also if you could tell me a little more about the site and how you maintain it that could help.
