Cherry Laurel Leaves #612388

Asked February 04, 2020, 12:18 PM EST

The tips of my cherry laurel shrub have started to turn brown in the last week. You should be able to see in the attached photos. Is it related to the unseasonable weather? And is there something I should do to prevent further browning? Thanks,

At this moment we would not be concerned with what you are seeing there.
That said, these plants can have multiple issues that you should be aware of and keep an eye out for this upcoming growing season.

Here is a recent blog from our office that covers them well:

Check the soil with your fingers to see if it feels moist. They don't like wet soil, but if these plants are new and it's dry, give them a drink.
