What do you recommend for fall care of Bobo hydrangea? 2 year old plants are well established. If you recommend cutting them down, to what height?

Ramsey County Minnesota

Expert Response

Majoring pruning of your Bobo hydrangea should be done in late winter. Deadheading the spent flowers allows fresh terminals to form 6-8 weeks later. If you hard prune the hydrangea after mid summer flowers then blooms will be delayed until the end of September.
