Expert Response

I am not sure.  I will find out for you from the photo.  If you could bring a sample of the bugs in white distilled vinegar to the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Office, 4800A New Hartford Rd., Owensboro, KY on the Community College , then we could be  sure of what you are seeing.   Do they seem  to be damaging the plant that they are on?   Our phone number is 270-929-308.
Thank you and sorry for the delay.

Our specialists says that he believes this insect is Scantius aegyptius,  More information can be found at :https://bugguide.net/node/view/301560
Yes, this is an invasive species.  The specialist would like to know the county and state where this was found.  If you live in Kentucky, it would be good to take a sample to an Extension Office for positive identification.  You can call me at the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Service for more information.
