We had purchased two Red Maple Trees from a reputable nursery, about four years ago. This year one of the two was not "leafing out" in the Spring, and the other was growing well. Also notice not of the branches had buds on them, so we pruned them off. At the same time, and bottom of the tree trunk had a brown stain from split in the bark. We would like some assistance as what we should do.
