Name that Moth #586926

Hello Cooperative Extension Expert, Could you please identify the moth in the photo I have attached? I looked for it in a book of butterflies and moths but couldn't find it. Thanks for your assistance with this. Best regards, Germaine

Hi - This is an Imperial Moth. They are native to Maryland.

Thank you for illuminating me. What a magnificent creature! It has so many variations in the markings and the coloring. This is the first time I've seen one. It sure is doing a good camouflage job!
