Sunpatiens leaves #579128

Asked July 11, 2019, 4:09 PM EDT

My sunpatiens leaves are turning brown. I thought I was over watering yet if I don’t water almost everyday the leaves begin to wilt. (They are planted in the ground.) Help!

Expert Response

Thank you for your question. I don’t know what the texture or content of your soil is, but leaf browning is often a result of a pH, nutrient and/or water issue. (Even water can be a culprit if it is from a source that adds chemicals.) Without that information, I can only provide this Extension article that describes their care: http://extension.msstate.edu/news/southern-gardening/2016/sunpatiens-tolerate-heat-bring-color-landscapes Were I you, I’d get a simple soil test, and go with the lab’s recommendations. Good luck!
