I have a number of these plants growing in my back yard. This is the first that they have appeared so I don't they will develop flowers. Some are over 10 feet tall. The have the purple splotches on the stalks with the white hair.

This does not look like giant hogweed. Giant hogweed has a different leaf shape and it has very hairy stems. What you have here looks like a wild lettuce species (Lactuca sp.).
