Expert Response
Hello,
Thank you for submitting your image for identification, however, there is no way to identify without opening up the nest. No matter the species you should not allow anything adhere to the side of your home, as this is the best way for ants, termites and mites to move into your home.
If you open the nest and would like further identification you can take your findings to the Angelina County Extension office https://angelina.agrilife.org/. Use a screwdriver and plastic container like a soft butter container to gently remove the mud and contents. You can take that in or you can go to this website to see different options for submitting samples and looking up insects. https://citybugs.tamu.edu/idhelp/
Kind regards,
