Vine ID #566392

Asked June 01, 2019, 8:33 PM EDT

Can you possibly identify this nice flowering vine that attracts hummingbirds? Thanks.

Expert Response

Thanks for the question. I does not appear to be a vine. A hardy fuschia, perhaps?

Possibly mandevilla? http://gardeningsolutions.ifas.ufl.edu/plants/ornamentals/mandevilla.html

Maybe it's a variety of dipladenia.  https://www.gardenanalyst.com/ornamental/flowers/dipladenia-mandevilla-growing-guide-differences/

I would suggest that you snip a bit of the vine with the flower and take it to a good local nursery for ID.  If you find out what it is, please post again to share the info!

Thank you both. However I would describe its habit as a vine (photo attached), and the flowers are tiny, one inch long and one-half inc ph wide.
Any other hypotheses?
