This came up where I had some daisy-like flowers last year, and is now 12-16" tall. I'm thinking it is young ragweed, but don;t want to yank it out if it is a sunflower, rudbekia, or similar. There are two plants that look similar - one has a reddish stalk.

Hey, thanks for the inquiry
There are many options this looks like and it is pretty hard to tell just from the leaves. I would wait until it flowers and then try to diagnose it. Do not let it go to seed though!
