What are the steps to see if the snake is still there. I also seen mice droplets. I moved into this house one year ago. I don't see any mice droplets no where else in the house but the attic.

Other than surveying the attic with a flashlight, there is not anything you can really do to see if the snake is still there. Since the snake skin was protected in the attic there is no way to determine how old it is.
That being said, I would go after the rodents so there is no food source for the snake. Here is some information from the University of Maryland Extension on how to control mice.
