Tiny moths #484512

I believe we have many-plumed moths our house.  Would like to know how to get rid of them!

Hi-

I was out of town when this came in so I'm sorry I'm just getting back to you.

You are correct in your ID; these are more specifically Alucita Montana, which are moths that are common on our locally native snowberry bushes.  I'm sorry to report that they are difficult to control and that the only way to 'get rid' of them is to exclude them.  I have them all throughout my home, too, and I swear that it's a fairly tight home, but they still get in.  Vacuuming is about the best way to get rid of them.

I'm sorry there is no 'silver bullet' here other than cutting down every snowberry within a mile of your home.  And even then I think they'd still come in! :(
