Elm tree spots? #484391

Asked September 12, 2018, 11:34 AM EDT

The city of East Lansing recently (July 24) planted a "Princeton" elm tree (Ulmus americana) in my front yard. I think I have taken good care of it in terms of watering it, but the leaves have spots. Should I be concerned?

From what I can see, there is nothing to be concerned about.  A pest to the American Elm is the elm leaf beetle.  The third website listed below contains information and photos of the damage by the elm leaf beetle.  The spots on your tree do not look the same.

I've also included two other websites about the American Elm which might be of interest to you
