I have weed appearing in my yard that looks like pennywort but leaves are small and shiny. To me it seems like leaves are too small for pennywort. Maybe it’s a variation? It reminds me of
Creeping Charlie but leaves much smaller and delicate and leaves are shiny. I’ve yet to see any flowers. The petiole is very delicate. Can’t pull by hand because the weed just tears apart too easily. It is appearing in areas far from each other so not so spreading solely by runners. Starts as very small plant with 3 or so leaves on very delicate stem/petiole. Any assistance on id and suggestions on how to control will be appreciated.

Take a look at the spent flower/developing seed pods and compare to what we see in your third photo.
They have only been reported in 4 places, with one being Montgomery County.
You could submit your photos to that page at the above link if you like.
