What is this weed invading my yard, how to get rid of it #479782

I live in camp polk area of sisters oregon. I have this weed invading my yard i would like to get rid of. I dont know what its called or.how to get rid of it. Please help, thank you Laurie

Hi Laurie, I am not certain as the photos are not clear enough to confirm, but it may be witchgrass (Panicum capillare).  Check out the information here to see if that seems like what you have or bring a sample to our plant clinic next time you are in Redmond

If it is witchgrass it can be controlled with an annual herbicide (e.g. glyphosate), or hand pulling, or cultivation. Try to remove it before it goes to seed.
