Do I destroy these infected branches? is this a bad bug or ok to leave alone. I really like this bush, it produces blackberries. Thanks

You are seeing fall webworm:

It has a very wide host range including the Rubus genus that includes blackberry.
It is unsightly but causes little damage. They can be knocked out of the planting with a broom, by a hard water spray, or pruning them out and disposing of them in the trash. jt
