Hi, we have small brown flying beetles(?) in our apartment. Very small around 4.5mm in size. Not concentrated to any one room, but they can appear flying around or crawling (quickly) in the lounge, kitchen, bathroom, or bedroom. They don't appear to be specifically near food - no food packaging damaged. They do seem to appear around about this time of year. Very hard shells and hard to squash. Thank you.

The light in the images makes it very difficult to see the beetle clearly. I would need some reference to determine the size of the beetle and images taken with the light behind the camera so it does not interfere with the images.
Grab a few and put them on a piece of paper with a ruler next to them. If they move fast, put them in a jar and place them in a freezer to slow them down. Then place some on their back so I can see top and bottom. Closeup images like you have submitted will help.
